1. Can a foreigner buy properties in Rwanda?

Foreigners can own one property in their name for residential purposes and generally, the process of buying is very straight forward. Any additional properties will be considered an investment and thus will have to be bought in a company’s name.

The process of registering a company for real estate investments in Rwanda is quick as well. To make things even easier, VIBE – Real Estate offers a package, which includes the company registration itself, the preparation of the business plan which is required for the investment certificate and the application for the investment certificate.

2. What are typical real estate agency fees in Rwanda?

Most real estate agencies in Rwanda are working on success-based fees and usually, there is no up-front payment required. This means that you don’t have to pay anything, if they cannot find the right property for you. 

VIBE – Real Estate follows the same approach:
For a signed contract of a minimum rental period of six months, our fee is one half month’s rent (for both residential as well as commercial properties)
For sales, our fee is 2,5% of the final gross sales price.

3. "I want to work with VibeHouse to advertise my property. What do I need to know?"

If you want to advertise your property with us, the easiest way is to contact us via info@vibehouse.rw or by sending us a WhatsApp message.

The more information we have about the property, the faster we can advertise it on our website and possibly also our various other advertising channels (Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
Relevant information are e.g. the location, the number of bed- and bathrooms, the plot size/living space, interior, the asking price, possibly a “last price” etc. as well as any other information you think should be included in our listing or believe our team should know about. The more details we have, the better we can advertise and thus find you a reliable buyer/tenant.
 
After we have the signed agency agreement, our professional photographer will make an appointment with you (or anyone else who has access) to take professional pictures of the property. As soon as we have created the listing and uploaded your property, you will get the confirmation and of course, further feedback the moment we have a serious lead for your property so we can schedule an appointment for a visit. We will assist you until everything is signed and the keys are handed over.
